Candle House

In Fall 2024, I took on the challege of trying to light a house environment solely by candle light. I kitbashed all of the assets within the house and used Unreal Engine's cube grid to build the house and its layout.

Project Details

For this project, I wanted to keep the lighting as realistic as possible so I chose Unreal Engine to do it in due to its realistic rendering and lumen reflections system. I made a blueprint of a candle with a light on it so it can be reused throughout the level easily and then used the foliage tool to place candles in the house, going back and adjusting the positions and amount manually to improve quality. In addition to the candle lights, there are also faint point lights in the scene supporting the candles in areas they don't reach well.
